Digital solution for global overview and training in quality management
Scan Global Logistics has grown rapidly in recent years, and therefore needed an upgraded online solution that could ensure quality in document management, procedures, supplier monitoring, and audits in order to obtain the necessary ISO certifications. The company was already using D4InfoNet, but the aim was to ensure a future-proof, digital solution that could meet the needs of a fast-growing organisation.
“I knew the D4InfoNet platform from my previous work with quality assurance. We already knew what it could be developed into, and what we wanted it to achieve. It was all about supporting our globalisation and digitalisation strategy,” explains Trine Tiedemann.
Together with her quality team, Trine Tiedemann spent the next three years developing the D4InfoNet platform so that it could meet all the requirements of a rapidly expanding company.
“There were many tasks we could transfer from manual work into a digital system once the platform was developed. One requirement was that when we update a procedure, it should only be updated in one place, and then immediately be available throughout the organisation,” explains Trine Tiedemann.
Solution
The tailored quality solution saves time, money, and travel days
Scan Global Logistics uses D4InfoNet to build customised forms for registration and process management, supplier management, risk management, and audits – all tailored to specific needs – as well as deviation reporting, which is particularly important in the pharmaceutical industry.
According to Trine Tiedemann, around 10% of the company’s 5,100 employees use the D4InfoNet platform. It is not relevant for everyone, but it is crucial for those working with quality assurance worldwide.

An important area for Scan Global Logistics is certifications, which are handled by Det Norske Veritas. They are responsible for the company’s three key ISO certifications and the EU GDP certification in accordance with the EU GDP Guidelines 2013/c 343/01.
“We see especially among our pharmaceutical customers that they want our quality management system validated to ensure that the available data and documentation are also stored correctly,” explains Trine Tiedemann. She emphasises that GDP certification and quality in general are major priorities for the pharmaceutical industry, which is why an entire department under her responsibility is dedicated exclusively to this sector – and manages that part of the D4InfoNet platform.
Scan Global Logistics also operates an online Academy, where one of the mandatory courses for all new employees is an introduction to the quality department’s work and the use of D4InfoNet.
Result
Faster certification, improved knowledge sharing, and far fewer travel days
“The most visible result is that we have gone from one GDP-certified location two years ago to now having more than 65 by the end of October 2025. In terms of ISO certifications, we have more than doubled the number of certified sites globally in just three years – that is quite significant,” says Trine Tiedemann.
This growth has taken place without increasing the number of employees in the quality department. According to Trine Tiedemann, that is almost the most important point. From a cost perspective, the company has grown from 2,200 to 5,100 employees in just three and a half years, while the size of the quality department has remained the same.
“Another tangible benefit of digitalisation is that our travel costs have been halved during this period,” explains Trine Tiedemann.
In addition, the number of internal audits per year has doubled, as they are now managed in the online system with checklists and relevant data available globally.
“One of the long-term advantages of the D4InfoNet platform is that we can now scale up easily and consistently. We can always add a new country or a new office simply and digitally. We also have the possibility of adding a new certification to the system whenever necessary. That matters to us, as we operate in a highly competitive industry where things move very quickly,” concludes Trine Tiedemann.
