We are D4
D4 is a Danish software company headquartered in Hillerød, with a branch in Hamburg, Germany. We develop digital solutions that strengthen management systems (eQMS) in both private and public organisations.
Our platform, D4InfoNet, centralises the management of documents, processes, and data collection, enabling our customers to work in a structured and efficient way with quality, environmental, safety, and other compliance requirements.
Behind the solution is a dedicated team of nearly 50 employees who develop, maintain, and advise our customers through training and close collaboration.
We work with customers across a variety of sectors, including life sciences, transport, food, environment, and energy. Despite their differences, all of them require a solution that can manage complex documentation demands while ensuring consistently high quality in a regulated environment.

Our history
D4 was founded by, among others, Morten Rønn Rasmussen and Niels-Richard Christensen, who remain owners and continue to lead the company today. Their vision was clear: to make knowledge accessible and document management efficient across organisations.
When the company was established, documentation was handled manually in ring binders and with large volumes of paper. Digitalisation was new for many organisations, and the need to structure and share important information in a simple, secure, and accessible way was growing.
As pioneers in digitalisation and management systems, we set out to develop a solution that did more than just store documents. It had to create structure, provide clarity, and foster collaboration across organisations.
The result was D4InfoNet—a platform we refine and develop every day, enabling our customers to save time and resources so they can focus on what truly creates value and drives progress.
Key milestones
25 years of digital knowledge sharing
On 1 June, D4 celebrates its 25th anniversary. From visionary startup to established leader, we have made a lasting impact in digital solutions for management and quality.
Customisable dashboards
As digitalisation becomes increasingly personalised, we launched a tool that allows customers to tailor D4InfoNet dashboards to departments, user groups, or individual users, meeting their specific needs.
No-code tool
We introduced a no-code form builder, making it easier for our customers to create their own data collection forms within the platform—without any technical expertise.
Opening our new headquarters
D4 moved into its newly constructed headquarters in Hillerød. The building was designed with a focus on sustainable materials, natural light, and a strong connection to the surrounding environment.
Anything but square
As D4 grew, we wanted a headquarters whose architecture reflected our values and supported knowledge sharing and innovation. Set in a beautiful natural location in Hillerød, the new building began to take shape.
Branch in Hamburg
D4 established a branch in Hamburg to strengthen its presence in the German market, marking an important milestone in our international growth and collaboration.
Looking outward
D4 took its first steps beyond Denmark by welcoming its first international customer, Eurofins. They remain with us today, with thousands of users working on the platform every day.
From four to two
D4’s ownership changed from four to two owners—Morten and Niels-Richard continue to lead the company, focusing on helping even more organisations digitalise their workflows.
First customers
D4InfoNet took shape. Our first customers were from the life sciences sector—a field with strict documentation and compliance requirements. Their needs helped shape D4InfoNet into the versatile digital platform it is today.
D4 founded
D4 was founded with the ambition of digitalising document management at a time when paperwork ruled, and important information was stored manually in ring binders and piles of paper.
Solving challenges together from the very start
D4 has grown from a visionary startup to a key player in management systems. Our journey has given us unique insight into the diverse realities our customers operate in—and a deep respect for the complexity of their daily work.
From the very start, we have developed D4InfoNet in close collaboration with our customers. Their needs, requirements, and experiences have not only inspired us—they have shaped the platform itself. Many of the features now central to D4InfoNet were created in response to real-world challenges.
This is at the heart of our development philosophy: we listen, we adapt, and we build solutions grounded in reality. We do not work in isolation; we design in close partnership with those who use our platform. This ensures our solutions and services remain relevant, sustainable, and add real value in everyday work.
Welcome to Askvang – our headquarters
Our headquarters at Askvang in Hillerød is more than just a workplace—it reflects the way we work.
Askvang was designed around our values and the culture we aim to nurture: collaboration, respect, integrity, and innovation.
Designed by Studio Pneuma, the building sits at the intersection of town and nature. It features open meadows, wildlife, expansive views, and architecture that embraces natural light, flowing spaces, and a sense of community. This is intentional: we believe great surroundings inspire great ideas, and that form and function should work in harmony.
As a company, we deliver solutions that work in practice and strengthen daily operations. It was therefore important for us to create a building that reflects the same philosophy: sustainable, robust, carefully considered, and attentive to detail.
The concept for our headquarters was developed in close collaboration with our employees and expert design partners. It is a space that brings us together and provides daily energy and inspiration for the work we do.
